Description
- In the last few years, wedge development has taken a huge leap forward with the introduction of personalised specifications for each individual degree of wedge, and now, thanks to Mizuno, they even have their own CG location, groove pattern, grind and head shape. For example, a lower lofted wedge is usually used with a full swing, so it would require more iron-like qualities; with the higher lofted wedges needing a more versatile approach, for green-side bunker shots and manipulation of the club face for added versatility.
- This is where the S18 Pro Series wedges from Mizuno Golf enters a new wedge realm. The T5 and T7 wedges are all examples of Mizuno’s progressive wedge approach, but the S18 is the first to combine all these aspects in one wedge.
- The Centre of Gravity is one of the progressions in the S18 wedges, with different CG locations for each degree – lower lofted wedges have a Low CG location to help achieve a higher flight with lower spin, with the higher lofted wedges featuring a Higher CG location, contributing to more control around the greens.
- Quad-Cut Grooves enable Mizuno to include specific grooves to each wedge loft. The lower lofted wedges hold narrow and deep grooves, ideal for full shots, with the higher lofts having wider and shallower grooves for increased stopping power and control.
